Brie is approximately 4 years old and is a relatively chill dog. In the play yard she kind of stuck to herself but would engage with some of the dogs. She enjoyed getting affection from the shelter volunteers. At this time she's timid and frightened so she needs a nice soft bed, good food and decompression time.
Spud was picked up as a stray and nobody claimed him. He spent 6 weeks in a high kill shelter and then was put on the kill list.
Spud is just a baby. He's approximately 6-8 months old and is a happy go lucky little boy.
Spot was picked up as a stray and nobody came for him. He landed in the high kill Riverside shelter where he sat for over 60 days waiting for someone to claim him, adopt him or for a rescue to save him. He was on the list of 130+ dogs that were going to be euthanized at that shelter. I saw him at the last minute and pulled him. He's ap

We aren't quite sure what happened to Samuel but the story we're hearing is that he followed a lady home from the store. He's people and dog friendly and is a happy 8 month old puppy. It was also thought that his severe neck injury was from an embedded collar although the injury doesn't look like it was from an embedded collar. We will

We will never know what really happened to him but he's out of the shelter and he's now safe.
Scooter lived with a family for 7 years. The landlord said he didn't like the dog barking and to get rid of him. We're thinking he lived in an apartment building. Scooter was dumped in a West LA shelter where he stayed in a small cage for 6 months. That length of time in a high kill shelter is pretty much unheard of.
Bear is one big hunk of a German Shepherd. He weighs in at 110 pounds and is pure love and joy. He's dog friendly, people friendly, loves kids. He's got a very mellow personality and is a total chill dog. He was picked up as a stray and nobody came for him. Pretty alarming when you see how perfect of a dog he is.

Teddy was hit by a car on the 4th of July in Long Beach, CA. A good samaritan saw the incident and got Teddy to the ER hospital where he stayed for 6 days. He went to the shelter on day 3 but only lasted 24 hours due to his pain level. Teddy has multiple pelvic fractures, a fractured tail and many cuts on his side and underbelly. We sent his x-rays to 6 different vet surgeons and 3 came back and said to not do surgery and time would be his best friend. He's on a multitude of pain medications which are helping but he still cries in pain if he has to get up. He has to be walked with a sling. He's currently in medical boarding in a quiet rural setting where he's got the place to himself, it's quiet and he's getting a lot of personalized care. This boy has a very long road of recovery ahead of him.

After two weeks in the shelter my rescue went to pull him and an hour before my transporter got there the owners called and said they were going to come and get him. That didn't happen. They gave them two extensions to pick up their dog and pay the fine and his owner left him there to die.
After the final extension lapsed we were at the shelter as soon as they opened and we got that boy out of there as quickly as we could. Hayden endured 21 days in the shelter on a cold concrete floor with deafening noise while his owner got to sleep in comfort.

Taylor is believed to be approximately 12 years old. She has a very nasty injury to her back leg, respiratory infection and an infected ear. She's grossly underweight as well.
She was fully vetted within the hour of leaving the shelter and all of her medical conditions are being treated.
Rexx aka Donald was picked up as a stray in Riverside, California.
He's approximately 2 years old. He was in a high kill shelter for 37 days. He was kennelled with a dog but he's not with dogs here yet.
This boy loves to be around people and shows zero aggression regardless of what we're doing with him. I've started training him and he's very food motivated and is a sponge.
